Maria Køhnke

In early 2007 I released my debutalbum COLLECTOR, produced by me and my friend Christian Bech. I recorded and edited the whole thing at my desk at home using the tiniest setup and whatever bad supermarket guitars we had available .
The album was well recieved by the Danish press. The four star review in leading Danish music magazine Gaffa translated as:
“Distinguished solo debut in the sign of the superior vocal. […] A style-confident and extravagantly faceted album. Maria K�hnke has a marvelous voice, with a repertoire that spans from heavenly brightness to resonating darkness.”

Making and releasing the first album was (most of the time) a lot of fun. Among other things I performed a music video for my song 'Cardboard Heart' LIVE on renowned DR2 talk show 'den 11. time'. I had choreographed a small play in five acts and my kind assistants, the two paper theater enthusiasts Per and Carsten, brought it to life while I played the song. After a couple of years of studying at the IT-University, I am proud to announce that my second album is now officially in the works!!
