Marc's work spans musicals, opera, film soundtracks and albums.
His musical Stuck on a Sunday was developed at the Royal Opera House in collaboration with writers Jason Morell & Timothy Walker. Stuck on a Sunday is now being developed into an animated feature film with the support of the BFI. The director is Marc Craste (Oscar shortlisted for Varmints, and won a BAFTA for JoJo in the Stars).
Other work at the Royal Opera House includes: Sea Shanty which has its premiere in February 2012 performed by the piece's lyricist Lucy Johnson; the opera film Stadt und Mensch, for which Marc composed the music with Bernd Wuertz, which premiered in February 2011; the Twitter Opera, co-written with Helen Porter, which in summer 2009 and was nominated for the 2010 Guardian Innovation Award.
Marc has recently been developing Burn Me Dead, a musical based on The Master & Margarita, at the National Theatre Studio with co-composer/lyricist Tim Phillips which will premiere at the Hammersmith Lyric in June 2012. He has an as yet untitled project in development with Tim and director Tom Morris (director of War Horse).
Soundtrack commissions include Blood & Gifts for director Howard Davies which premiered at the National Theatre in September 2010, the soundtrack for Brad Watson's feature thriller Beacon 77, Theatre O's new adaptation of Joseph Conrad's The Secret Agent and Filter Theatre's Body Stories.
Marc recently completed the experimental pop album Imekura with producer Bernd Wuertz featuring Japanese singer Ayu Okakita. He has just finished the album Bitter Almond featuring singer Lucy Johnson.
Marc was a nominee in the 2005 Berlin International Film Festival's VW Score Award with his soundtrack for Thomas Struck's animation Hearts, recorded with The Berlin Film Orchestra.
