Since he started as a DJ, Mapiu's music sets have been recognized for their amazing combination of rhythms that go from house through trance, landing on techno, sucking you into his soundscape to a point where suddenly you look up and realize you've been lost in music for hours. He is certainly one of the most accomplished and recognized dj's/producers in the Mexican scene.
He's being playing around at the best clubs in México City like Roots, Magic Room, Play, Continental, Rioma, Sky Bar, Tlv, Pervert Lounge, Danzoo, Club 303, Acanto Lounge, Loft and Palace; sharing stage with big name Dj's like John Digweed, James Holden, Dave Seaman, Hernan Cattaneo, Jimmy Van M, Damian Lazarus, Carl Cox, Anthony Pappa, Kiki & Silversurfer, Kasey Taylor, BT, Hernan Cerbello and Kriece just to name a few. He also has received international invitations to London (Club 333), Dallas (Euphoria), and Quebec City (Terminal).
In 2003, he started producing his own tracks, getting support from international DJ's/ producers like James Zabiela, Hernan Cattaneo, Andrew K, Derek Howell, Sjunkës and Kosmas Epsilon.
In 2004 Mapiu was invited to Toltecnica Festival where the top 25 Mexican dj's played for 24 hours on 2 stages near Teotihuacan Pyramids.
He played at Loveparade México 2005 along with international talent like Dr. Motte, Pacou, Inkfish, Barry Gilbey, and many more; putting his famous track Puma inside the compilation cd "Loveparade 2005". He also played at Technogeist in Zacatecas City where he shared stage with Ronsky Speed and Thomas Penton.
In November 2006 "Blinding fruit" was released on Supernova Records using his old producer name "Puma", staying more than 18 weeks in Beat 100.9 fm Top Ten and was one of the top sellers at 3 beat digital store. It was also used for radio station's and Beat 100.9 fm annual compilation in 2007.
In January 2007 Mapiu was chosen by Cookie, the biggest promoter in Mexico, to be one of the Mexican dj's sharing stage with Adam Freeland during the Global Underground 032 Mexico City party.
In March 2007 "Fusion Perfecta" produced by Mapiu & Oscar Colin, was released on ULD (Greece), remixed by Andrew K and Distant Fragment. This one also got the chance for Mapiu and Oscar to sign with the same label Distant Fragment's – Looney activity (Mapiu & Oscar Colin rmx)
In 2008 he was invited to Electrolux Festival in Bogotá Colombia, Sharing stage with talent like Water Lilly, Retrovisor, Ghava, Electrolux family, and many more, playing for 25.000 people.
After a big success in Colombia, he returned 2 months later to play at Summer Festival; but now playing in front of 70.000 people
Mapiu used to be Mexico's best kept secret, now he is one of the best promises in Latin American dance music.
