THIS JUST IN: New CD Review of "Satellite Baby" by Paul V for IN Magazine. CLICK HERE TO READ IT!

Killer queen Kelly Mantle arrives just in time to bring 2007 its first heaping of sensational queer glam. The L.A. favorite is now dropping his third CD, a bit of a departure from his more rock-leaning efforts of the past. This time, Mantle dives eyelash first into the underground-club sound, skillfully marrying a bit of dark electro wave with upbeat Britpop influences, and even a bit of Emo trip-hop (such as the Portishead-inspired “Rebel Screams”). But the majority of Satellite Baby is an invitation to the dance, and the dance floor. Opening cut/first single “Never 2 Late” is a manic, up-tempo workout, offering some ‘80s-esque Euro pop that almost sounds like the sequel to ABBA's “The Visitors.” Speaking of the ‘80s, Mantle incorporates some of the lyrics of Jellybean's “Sidewalk Talk” into the breathy, bouncy synthetics of “Time Traveler,” then offers up a snazzy, less busy-sounding update of Animotion's “Obsession,” which features the fabulous duet vocals of Heather Reid, of the Murmurs. Then Kelly gives the nod to the DJ and the nonstop party on the very infectious “Don't Stop.” But I think my two favorite tracks are the more rock-leaning “Borrow My Sorrow” and “Chit Chat & Hiccups,” both of which really showcase his cool lyrics and eclectic vocal style. ABOUT KELLY MANTLE:

Ironically penned as "LA's next household name," Kelly Mantle fiercely fights for the underground underdog. Perhaps his lyrics say it best:

"I AM WHO I AM WHEN I'M NOT WHO I'M SUPPOSED TO BE!"

"IS HE A SHE? OR IS SHE A HE? WHY WON'T YOU LET ME KEEP MY MYSTERY? I AM A SATELLITE BABY!"

"I declare what I wear & what I swear from a stage. I've been in movies. I've been on TV. But life on the stage is where I feel most pretty."

KELLY MANTLE: Actor, Comedian, Singer, Songwriter, Musician, Model, Writer and Activist.

Kelly Mantle is an Oklahoma native like his uncle, the late great Mickey Mantle. Since landing in Tinseltown, Kelly has been seen everywhere from the small screen to the silver screen, the music scene to the covers of magazines, and everything in between.

Kelly has made numerous television guest star appearances on such shows as NYPD Blue (in the recurring role of Dan "Monika" Hofnagle), CSI, Judging Amy, Nip/Tuck, Cold Case, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Southland, Will & Grace, George Lopez, Cuts, Eve and 10-8. Kelly has also starred in several television pilots including Queens On The Road and Three Strikes (Jon Stewart's new pilot for Comedy Central).

Film credits include The Convent (premiered at the Sundance Film Festival), Straight Eye: The Movie, True Rights, Buds For Life, Pop Kowboy, and the currently popular Boys & Girls Guide To Getting Down.

Kelly's background as a theatre actor has lead him to many exciting adventures including his performance as Jo in the critically-acclaimed musical-play All This & Heaven Too at The Macha Theatre in West Hollywood, California. Before that, Kelly received rave reviews for his portrayal of Gash in Laguna Playhouse's production of Last Easter. Kelly also starred alongside Heather Reid (from the band, The Murmurs) in the world premiere musical Dear Bernard (also penned and composed by Reid and produced by Jorja Fox from CSI). Kelly received a Maddy Award for Best Actor for his performance in Dear Bernard. Other notable theatre credits include the world premiere of Tony and Tony's Wedding, the Chicago and Hollywood revivals of Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, and the award-winning all-male production of Lone Star/Laundry and Bourbon in which Kelly starred and co-produced. It was hailed as the best show of the year by The Chicago Tribune's Year-In-Review.

In addition to earning a B.F.A. in Theatre from The University of Oklahoma, Kelly also studied at Second City in Chicago. He has performed with many sketch comedy troupes in Chicago and Los Angeles including The Milk Carton Children where his "famous" character Dusty Rhodes was brought to life. The character eventually evolved, and The Dusty Rhodes Show was born. Kelly performed as Dusty Rhodes once a month for three years with new material and songs and surprise guests each month.

In addition to acting, Kelly has appeared in numerous print ads and on several fashion runways. Kelly was a featured model in photographer Steven Meisel's award-winning photo spread, "Night Clubbing," published in Italian Vogue Magazine. A few other print credits worth mentioning include the poster boy for Pro-Tools and various Toyota ads.

Kelly is also an accomplished singer, songwriter, and musician. To date, he has recorded three albums which have been hailed by critics everywhere. His debut album, "Ever Changing," captured Kelly's first collection of very personal songs written and performed to an acoustic guitar. Chris Freeman (from the band, Pansy Division), came on board as producer and recorded the songs with a full band essentially creating Kelly's initial sound.

Kelly's second album, "Rock N Glow," (also produced by Freeman) was a more elaborate effort creating a more rock-n-roll sound while maintaining Kelly's personally poetic writing style.

Most recently, Kelly teamed up with Producer, Steven Phillips, to record his third album. The result is a beautifully composed, electronic-driven recording called, "Satellite Baby."

Kelly can be seen performing his music live throughout the year. His live music performances range from solo acoustic (with just him and his guitar) to band performances to a full cabaret show.

Kelly's one-person show, The Confusion Of My Illusion is set to open March 26, 2010 at The Davidson/Valentini Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.

"Beauties of the Universe unite! Be yourself and you will reach great heights. I am your queen. You are my satellites." --Kelly Mantle
