In 2010 The band officially separated into two distinct projects, the original rock & roll outfit adopting the new name THE GLIMMERand the acoustic set remaining a side project for the band and keeping the Mansons moniker: The Mansons began as two separate projects featuring the same members: an acoustic group that played mainly covers and an all-originals rock & roll band. In 2009 band was invited by Jay Katz and Miss Death to perform an intimate set of the acoustic folk songs written by Charles Manson at the infamous Mu-Meson Archives, while rare archive footage of the Manson Family was screened. This rekindled the band's interest in an idea they had been toying with for some time - to record an album of covers of Charles Manson's songs, mainly in the interest of posterity.**********The Mansons' last original release was a Halloween single "All Souls", which features the original version of This Day Forward, cowritten by and performed with Simon Day of Ratcat. MP3's of the tracks are available online through itunes and the CAN (click on the "All Souls" image below). The Mansons' debut EP "Blood, Love & Rhetoric" was recorded with Andrew Beck at Damien Gerard Studios and limited copies are available to purchase from Repressed Records in Newtown. Nic Dalton of Half A Cow Records reviewed the release as CD of the month in October 2008: "They take turns singing the dark, fuzzed up rockers with lyrics that are both gloomy and uplifting at the same time. Then there's the very poppy 'Unmanned Canyon' just to show that they can slip a bubblegum-coloured dress on as well as the black leather. Maybe it's because the songs have such strong melodies and the arrangements are full of the right sort of riffs that make me think these guys have got something special going on. As good as these recordings are – and they rock! – I reckon it's up on stage that The Mansons would definitely impress. I can visualise the opening track 'Never Help Anyone' live and can see the fans going mental until hometime."x:)THE MANSONS 2009 MP3'S @ THE CAN MP3 STORE!THE MANSONS MERCHThe first ever performance of new track "This Day Forward", featuring guest vocals from Simon Day (Ratcat)!
