piece "Bloco" (Drum Ensemble) AFRO MANDELA; an outstanding drumming band that developed uniquely arranged Afro Brazilian rhythms, as
SAMBA REGGAE, SAMBA DE RODA, FUNK, MARACATU, ILE AYE, REGGAE AND
AFOXE. Part of the "AXE MUSIC" movement started by
internationally known OLODUM and TIMBALADA, directly related to drummer/composer/producer/activist/ CARLINHOS BROWN.
Some years after that, in 2004, in Miami, was born, initially as a drum/dance ensemble , then as a full band MANO SANTA
, a group of talented musicians from different cultural roots, like BRAZIL, JAMAICA, CUBA, COLOMBIA, USA
and ARGENTINA, with only one thing in mind: Have lots of fun and touch with that
"HOLY HAND" that music represents, every heart at every place they perform at.and this, there's no doubt, is what MANO SANTA accomplishes at it's energetic performances.

a- Drum/dance ensemble:
This option includes drummers by itself or drummers and dancers. Mostly performing live afro-brazilian beats as Samba- reggae, Funke, Maracatu or Samba enredo. A powerful 20 minutes set of tribal drumming and energetic dance by our beautiful female dancers that, from sound to look, will exihlarate the audience and invite them to participate and create a sensational brazilian carnival, disregarding what part of the world your event it's held at. No sound sistem is required for this act in most standard size rooms. Minimum of 5 drummers is our suggestion for indoor events and minimum of 6 is recommended for outdoors performances.
Many costume options available: DRUMMERS: -All white, -Tribal (leathers, body painting), -Red, yellow and green Mano Santa t-shirts, -White Mano Santa t-shirts. DANCERS: - Brazilian fantasias: shiny, colorful, magnificent high couture costumes, you choose the grade of sexyness, (we have costumes wich cover more skin than others). Also tribal-body painted dancers available.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
b- Full band:
Basically, Mano Santa performs as a full band in theaters or night clubs with a big size stage, due to the number of members that reach up to 14, plus the dancers. The line-up is simple: To the basic drum ensemble we add the beautiful color of the wind section (sax, trompet and trombon), guitar, keyboards, bass and lead and back up singers. For longer shows and special performances, to enjoy Mano Santa to the fullest, the full band it's the way to go. All full band Mano Santa shows finishes with all the band members carring portable drums walking thru the crowd at the beat of amazing brazilian drumming as a parade, it's an unforgetable experience! Sound sistem is definetly required for this format.

- Mano Santa 2005 MTV AWARDS Performance. Video with images of the band playing at the MTV Video Awards, air played world wide, this sensational event take place every year on a different location, famous because the top artist music industry gather together for an amazingly glamorous night. At the 2005 edition Mano Santa was selected from over a dozen of other bands in Miami to join none the less but famous rapper/actor LUDACRIS, Mano Santa showed as a surprise act in a middle of LUDACRIS performance. As Luda himself said during rehearsals: "You gotta love that!!!" It was a blast.
