Performing up and down the country since 2003, from the local bars, pubs and venues of their home town of Bristol to the internationally renowned Jazz World Stage at Glastonbury Festival, via the beautiful fields and stages of Shambala, Mannifest, Secret Garden, Larmer Tree, Sun Rise, GreenMan, Bestival and many more.The Mankala Band is a Pan-African Grooving Force formed by a multicultural collective of versed musicians with one common vision: to create Joyous High-Energy Roots Dance Music.with good vibes! In 2007, back then still known as just "Mankala", the band independently released 1000 copies of their only album recorded to date "Speak Your Mind". Somehow always managing to stay alive and survive the obstacles imposed by the chaotic and unpredictable world of music and musicians, today The Mankala Band is a transformed and matured band. but the original core and philosophy will always remain the same.
