My Music is soulful and is a way out for most that feel trapt in the way of life that they live, says Maniak AKA M.City the 26-year-old rapper from Minneapolis, MN.
Maniak/City is fast becoming a rising star in the rap game in the industry and in the Twin Cities. He has performed at various nightclubs including Escape, Myth; where he was an opening act for Yung Joc/Rick Ross Concert, Hes opened for Lil Flip, Trocaderos, Euphoria, Arnellas, Red Sea, The Rock, Karma, Station 4, and The Twin Cities 1st Annual Music Awards and was nominatted for mpls mayor at the 2nd annual awards and many more. He has also been a favorite on radio station KMOJs Rush it or Flush it back in the day where listeners rated new artists. Maniak/City has already droped his first CD The Beginning: 2 Sides 2 Every Story and is now done with the M.I.H/Tip of the iceburg compulation and is now working on his 2nd Album. Maniak/City is President of Make It Happen/Tip of the Iceberg ENT.
Maniak/City got the name when he was 14 years old because of his wild behavior and attitude. And they call him M.City cuzz of his love for his city minneapolis and all his tattoos that rep his hood and THE CITY IS HIS. He started rapping when he was 7 years old at the kitchen table, and had his first experience in the recording studio at 14. In 1996, he recorded singles titled: Why So Many Murders and the hit single Kool 4 Life. He also colaborated with a Detroit-based record label in 1999. He has been rapping on and off, but decided to grab hold of success after his brother was killed. My younger brother always told me that I had a lot of talent, and I needed to use it, Maniak/City says. When he died, thats all I heard was his voice telling me to do something with my music. Im doing this for my brother and my son, just as much as myself.
Maniak/City writes all of his lyrics and describes himself as the heart of the hood cause he breaths and bleeds minneapolis ''when im dead and gone they'll say we lost apart of the hood'' Maniak/City has toured the Twin Cities club scene ripping up the stage with songs This Is How We Get It and Thats Whats Up, which have become fan favorites. And now the smash hitz Loosing Control, Should of Seen, Let the Beat go, We Crack and many more. He has worked with Minnesota artist such as Depth, B.C from Street Knowledge ENT, BLITZ, Imperio,Young but dangerous, ZONE. And many more. He feels its time for Minnesota to get its respect in the game.
And is now in Las Vegas Navada puttin on for his city.
I want people to be encouraged to take chances. Everyone is doing the same thing they did 10 years ago. "IF YOU WANT SOMTHING DIFFERENT PIMPING SWITCH UP WHAT YOU USALY DOING". You have to make a change, Maniak/City says. Whatever you do, make sure you shine.
