Martin Menzel

Since 1993 Martin Menzel is an inherent part of the north German techno scene. In these days he used to celebrate together with local and international acts in old leaved warehouses. Later he got bookings from clubs in Berlin, Hamburg, Leipzig and Vienna.

From 1996 to 2001 Martin played as resident dj in rostocks famous clubs “Magnet” and "Mau”.

In 1997 he opened his record store which is now run under the “karate.beats” label. Later he started to organize Techno Parties on the well known “MS Stubnitz” in rostocks harbor. These shindig “Komatoast” called parties and their live records are still in mind.

After a few years, in 2001, the “silent sounds” era started. This new event line is successfully organized by Martin and his old crony Maxweedhard.

In 2003 Martins first co-production with John Spring was released on the Pocketgame Sampler “North and South”. Since approximately 5 years he presents the weekly electronic music radio show “Nighttraxx” on radio Lohro.

Stylistically Martin isnt pinned down. In his multi-faceted dj sets he shifts between House and Techno – from old school to recent releases.
