Malica is quickly becoming known amongst DJs and industry execs who’ve

heard her material already leaked as Jamaica’s "UNSIGNED HYPE".

Malica is the newest female sensation to hit the scene. Her charismatic

style and angelic voice are an entity that cannot go unnoticed. Like

many in our generation, Malica was heavily influenced by Hip Hop and R&B

music flooding cable TV, particularly the sounds from New York the heart

and foundation of Hip Hop.

Malica's father owned one of Kingston Jamaica’s extremely popular

reggae sound systems Love Vibration. Like many children of selecta’s

(sound men/DJs), the exposure to music constantly opened Malica’s ear

to the styling’s of talented reggae musicians such as; Barrington

Levy, Beenie Man, Professor Nuts, Sanchez and many more. Accordingly,

these extremely different genres are all evident in Malica's style of

delivery; as a child of the next generation of music.

When Malica first told her parents that she was born to sing and

demonstrated seriousness in the declaration, they immediately knew what

to do. Her mom started taking her to singing lessons and entered her

into multiple talent shows. Everyone that saw her performances were

uplifted by the powerful yet melodious voice of this little girl. She

conveyed a sense of assurance and fulfillment through her sound and

presence that no one had ever seen before. Malica has taken lessons in

everything ranging from Opera, Gospel and R&B since the age of five.

Moving into Orlando to attend school as she’s presently

fulfilling her college education, she received local recognition as

she’s still been spending time creating music and getting into the

music scene locally. Remember Orlando is the home of Disney and has

kicked off many pop stars career’s such as Justin Timberlake, Britney

Spears, Christina Aguilera and others. Malica’s singing and dancing

talents have landed her features on local news channels and she was

quickly recruited by a local dance troupe which has only aided to give

her a full rounded stage presence.

To help create a general promotional awareness, Malica went into the

studio to deliver her response to NEYO's "So Sick", which leaked to many

US mainstream radio stations program directors after being delivered

into the hands of radio DJs in Orlando. This resulted in airplay for

this relatively unknown artist – quite the accomplishment out the

gate. Malica has stayed preparing for the future, doing a variety

of shows in between her class schedule at venues like; Universal

Studio's “Hard Rock Live”, Disney's “House of Blues”, Sea World

and on stage in Miami for major reggae events like this year’s huge

“Memorial Day Festival”. Some of the artists she has opened for

include; Baby Cham, Beenie Man, Buju Banton, Capleton, Darkchild

recording Artist ATIBA, Elephant Man, Method Man, Mims, Mr. Vegas, Nick

Cannon, Ray J, Sasha, Sean Paul, Sizzla, Snoop Dog, Tanto Metro &

Devonte, T-Pain, Wayne Wonder, Ying Yang Twins and many more.

Malica’s material certainly has a pro-female element, but she takes it a

step further, with bold delivery and simply stated messages keeping up

the theme, independent women round here today don’t take disrespect

–a very real message always delivered with stylish flair and class.

Fully committed to her heritage and Jamaica, Malica’s music is also

reflective of the other musical genre influences. The advantage

Malica has is her pure determination and passion, which have always been

key elements in her persistence. From this, she lives this art,

perfecting every aspect of her long time devotion. MUSIC.
