Born May 1978 in Kingston Jamaica,Raymond Jnr began his journey. He loved music from a very early age, his first exposure was gospel music at church and also Reggae music by just being in Jamaica. He attended St. Andrew prep school as a youth where he passed his exams to continue his education at Calabar High. That same summer of 1990 he and his family migrated to Miami Florida, where he was exposed to a whole nother world of cultures and music, which he came to know and like, Influencing him a lot and expanding his music library. Though far away from home he still lived his life as if he was home in Jamaica,Parents an family keeping the culture alive all around him. While in Miami attending school his friends would ask him to sing songs that would be tounge twisting for them but nothing Magyva couldn't flip.He had a natural talent for hearing songs and remembering lyrics and melodies, but it was other artists material.Though never once seeing himself as an artist or even cared to be; one day wrote a little rhyme which his friends loved and pushed him even more to pursue music. This was just the begining,he wondered how was this going to be possible he hated being in front of large crowds muchless singing and performing, but Magyva kept writing. In 1997 he and a friend Michael formed a Dancehall group Rareform which took the pressure off him directly and they began to do little performances in clubs and at parties around Miami. The following year they were asked by Koppa Rock Stone of 101 vibez if they would perform for Reggae Fest in Gainsville Florida, they gladly accepted. Opening up for artists such as Tony curtis and Spragga Benz. For their first stage show performance it went well as planned. The group continued performing and making more and more music and working with different producers. Eventually Mr. Magamma and Mr. Magyva started composing their own personal pieces, not that they wanted to break up the group it was more like expanding. Magamma who himself was also a producer took on more of a hip hop flava while Magyva stuck to his reggae, but still working together when needed. As they worked on their own projects Magyva linked up with Kehv (the prince of reggae soul) and under the 876 Record label co-wrote the song "Im Noticing"on the Rustic riddim which was released in 2004. Then shortly after "what is the meaning of this" on the Detrimental riddim, which also featured Miami artist Rookie. Magyva is currently working on his album entitled I.C.U which is all new material. Coming with some conscious vibes in order to "clean up" as he says not just the industry but his country, to bring it to life not death.
