Yo, I'ma just say what I feel. I make music to get heard. Not to make money. Or get famous. Or for pussy. I do this to get heard. And not to get me, maCEhual, heard; but to get the people I represent heard.

"maCEhual" (mah-CE-wahl) means "commoner" in the beautiful Nahuatl language of my ancestors; the beautiful language we nearly lost. The "maCEhual" is who I feel I represent. I'm just an average Brown man tryin to play his part. Never been a rich motherfucker. Never been "privileged." And in my experiences so far, I've already learned that everywhere: it's the same ol' shit, just a different city. Folks is strugglin' harder than me in some places.

I belong to that growing group of people that decided to invoke the spirit of Emiliano Zapata and personify the phrase: "YA BASTA!" The group of people that re-affirm the movements and revoutions of our ancestors, so they have not died in vain. A group I like to call Sixth Sun Soldiers. We say fuck you to imposed values; religion; standards of beauty, health and social status; and the continued degradation of our gente and other peoples from a system dirtier than anything we ever thought up before they arrived.

I know I will die before this freedom fight is over. But Comandante Marcos tells us of selflessness when he wrote about "planting the seed of tomorrow" in one of his communiques. Ya see, it ain't about instant gratification. Its about leaving something behind that our descendants will benefit from. If we plant the seed of tomorrow, today; we may die before its the huge tree it's bound to become, but our descendants will surley bask in it's shade.

With my music, I'm plantin my seed, y'all. Leavin somethin behind. Something with substance. At least, I hope. I'm do this selflessly. I don't sell my music or beats. I give it away. And if I ever have to sell it, it will only be a few dollars at most. I make music that comes from me. The stories I tell and the pictures I paint with my lyrics are reflections of what I've seen, grew up around, and experienced myself. This is music to reflect my people. I'm a young, gifted and Brown male. So what I know is that of the life of such.

My music will be misinterpreted, misconstrued, and taken out of context at one time or another. Just call me on it, don't assume. I hope you enjoy what I've put down. And keep in contact. I'm a humble dude, So no matter where I go with this music, I'ma always connect with the people.

Tiahui,

maCEhual
