Lyrasis - born in Chicago, IL knew early at the age of 12 that she was destined to be a performer. Lyrasis grew up on Chicago’s Southside of the city - Englewood area - where she witnessed the everyday struggles of growing up in the hood. Lyrasis made a promise to herself that she would definitely not be a product of her environment and make a good life for herself.
Lyrasis began her career hosting a Chicago cable network RAP show at the age of 16 and orchestrated the performances and interviews of local rap artists. Later, Lyrasis moved to Minnesota for other opportunities and formed a rap group called Double L. This group consisted of Lyrasis and Lynk, a female rap duo that gained much respect from the male dominated industry. Lyrasis and Lynk found they could hold their own and was the much sought out show openers for major acts such as: 112, All For One, Twista, Crucial Conflict, MJG and Eightball, Luke, Next, and the great Jay-Z. Lyrasis also co-wrote and is the featured artist on the 1999 Reconciliation song, 24 and Back Again by the Sounds of Blackness.
Lyrasis decided to reinvent herself as a solo artist, becoming one of the music industry’s hottest female emcees - LADY LYRASIS. Songs like, EYE CANDY, definitely boosted self esteem for ladies of all color, creed, and nationalities. You will see why she can hold such a strong name as she does. Lyrasis also appears on the up-and-coming album SOUNDTRACK, TO THE STREETZ, with one of her hit singles titled, “What It Do”. She has collaborated with the Legion Of Doom (aka Superfriends) and DJ Flavajavu in the development of their upcoming mix tape and will be featured with Woodpile, one of the hottest rap groups coming out of Arizona. You can look for Lyrasis’ single, "Where My Girlz At", on the soundtrack of Wendy Williams’ new movie, “Queen of Media”, a film depicting the life of story of the notorious gossip columnist.

Lyrasis has been nominated for the Twin Cities First Lady Music Awards, and she's the host for her own online radio show through Urban Network Radio which is aired on 365Live. Her performance at the 2006 Billboard Conference Awards in Atlanta, GA has catapulted her career to a level that is sure to position her as an astounding Grammy nominee in the near future. Yes, Lyrasis is a force to be reckoned with and she is a true lyricist that dares anyone to challenge her artistic abilities.
