L. Young

A "studio singer", he is not. A "producer driven artist", he is not. A "star", he is! L. Young's style is the equivalent of what music used to be, "original". Taking a chaotic blend of country, gospel, and hip-hop/R&B, L transforms it into a sound so smooth it could pour from a bottle of Southern Comfort!

Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, L. has graced the stage with such artists as Patti LaBelle, Sisqo, Toni Braxton, Busta Rhymes, Gladys Knight, Blackstreet, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Teena Marie and Tyrese just to name a few.

Some of his credits include production of Babygirl (Terrys Theme) for B2K on the 2002 Barbershop Soundtrack, and writing and producing Nicole Sherzinger from the platinum selling recording group The Pussycat Dolls, and also writing and production credits on KeKe Wyatt's 2010 release “Who Knew.” L. also has songs on the platinum selling Booty Call soundtrack, Dangerous Grounds, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Phat Beach, and Doughboys soundtracks.

With soothing vocals, creative writing, production and arranging skills, arguably on a level above his peers, L. is the definition of self contained artist. His dynamic and seemingly flawless live performances have earned him a reputation in Los Angeles, where he now resides, as a true entertainer. In a business where electronic enhancements essentially create artists, L. Young has managed to remain marketable, while still being innovative and loyal to his identity as a musician. "I pray that in my music somebody finds hope, or some kind of inspiration. I just want my music to effect some kind of change from the grown folk all the way down to the chil'rens. I'm trying to save lives, mine included, one song at a time."
