Live Illectronic Jamband? That's just one way in which people have tried to even begin to describe LYCHEE LASSI. In 1998 Lychee Lassi started playing on the Berlin underground circuit. Cult gigs include their first ever in the former squatter institution the ‘Schokoladen’, the legendary ‘Fete de la musique’ Show after the headlining act in front of 9000 people and their infamous performance on algerian TV in 2006. Lychee Lassi gained respect for their freaky live shows. They also made a name for themselves with their debut ‘Speed’ EP which came out on the Hamburg club label Bastard Records in 2000 and was named record of the month by TIP Magazine. Lychee Lassi have gone on to play gigs all over Germany, Switzerland, Italy and the UK at clubs, open-airs, nerdy digital arts festivals and yes, even at truly crusty neo-hippie raves. They have felt at home supporting the likes of Angie Reed, Seeed, the H-Blockxs and everything from puppets to breakdancers. They have performed an improvised live soundtrack to one of the few screenings of the underground cult movie „the KLF burn a million quid“ and did recording sessions with the likes of Killa Kela, Baatin (Slum Village) and Gordon Raphael of The Strokes fame, who said end of 2005:
".thinking alot about lychee lassi, one of the coolest bands i saw this year!!"
