Lupine began in early 2003 with a regular Wednesday night live band showcase at the now sadly defunt Lux Club in Wigan. The aim was to bring the best in upcoming bands and signed acts into Wigan.
Since then Lupine have hosted bands such as Arctic Monkeys, The Black Lips, Pete Doherty, The Sunshine Underground, The Kooks, The Maccabees, Jamie T, The Von Bondies, Cage The Elephant, The Dead 60's, Boy Kill Boy, Babyshambles, The Fall, Nine Black Alps, The Noisettes, The Bluetones, Rick Witter, Reverend & The Makers, Good Shoes, Jim Noir, Little Man Tate, Esser, Five O'Clock Heroes and many more as well as aftershow parties for the likes of The Mighty Boosh, The Kooks and Babyshambles. Lupine are now based at Club Nirvana (formerly known as Princes - a century old cinema).
As well has hosting gigs Lupine put on the Northern Lights club night which attracts over 700 people every Friday night. Special guest DJs have included The Cribs, Kaiser Chiefs, White Lies, The Fratellis, Carl Barat, The Mighty Boosh, The Futureheads, Belle & Sebastian, Babyshambles, Mike Joyce, Gary Powell and Mani

Fridays run from 10 til 4.00 with entry at 2 quid before 10.30, 3 quid after. Three floors of the club are open. Main floor for the best in indie, rock and roll and northern soul, Kings Electric for Rock and emo, top floor varies each week.
