Do we exist anymore? We're not even sure.
Love Stereo are defined by distinct lyrical and musical layers, with free
flowing melodies and a melancholic atmosphere. Formed in mid-2006, the band
has been playing consistently around Adelaide since.
With the unique charm of duel male vocals the band produce a very atmospheric
sound, reminiscent of contemporaries Doves, The Brian Jonestown Massacre,
Bright Eyes and early Augie March, and the early 90s dream pop of Slowdive
and My Bloody Valentine.
On their new demo they present a wide dynamic range between songs. From the
insatiable longing of End of Youth, the despair of The Lone Man
from Seychelles, the wailing wall of sound instrumental of Sirens,
delicate O Little Cutie, and the driving Life, Love & Happiness
the band generate layered dreamscapes of floating noise. Rounding out their
demo are the two interludes, Unfinished Prelude and Spatchka,
further displaying the bands diverse capabilities.
Live, the band have been described as "waftingly melancholic fuzz puppets
of symphonic pop" and "softer, melodic, tube amplifier drift
of noise. polished as a prep school pupil's Clarks."
True to their name, Love Stereo will leave you every bit infatuated with
the blissful sounds they create.
