SEPTEMBER 15, 16, 2006

ST. LOUIS (July 31, 2006) Laumeier Sculpture Park, the world-class open air museum, continues their boutique amphitheatre program in 2006 with an eclectic mix of nationally acclaimed talent. LOMA (Laumeier Outdoor Music Amphitheatre) features low ticket prices, premium food and beverage, relaxed atmosphere and world renowned sculptures.

Taking place September 15th and 16th , the 2-day music festival will feature Dark Star Orchestra recreating the experience of The Grateful Dead, acclaimed guitarist and Jimmy Buffett Band member Peter Mayer, internationally acclaimed songwriters

The Cowboy Junkies and hot up-and-coming pop star Jonathan Cour. More performers to be announced.

We really made a statement with last years festival, explains Glen Gentile, director of Laumeier Sculpture Park. We proved that people in St. Louis would support a natural surrounding that combines art, nature and musical experience. In 2005, LOMA attracted more than 8,000 people to Laumeier Sculpture Park to experience musical performances under the stars on the spectacular 98-acre museum grounds.

Last year was a big success for Laumeier and we want to continue to attract new patrons, and music just makes perfect sense continued Gentele. The institution currently welcomes 300,000 visitors annually who come to view exceptional exhibitions, participate in quality education programs, enjoy the annual arts fair and experience this fantastic sculpture park.

With LOMA, we have created a place where nationally recognized musicians perform in an intimate open air setting among some of the greatest outdoor contemporary art in the country, stated Laumeier Board Co-Chair Nancy Kranzberg. The LOMA audience has the opportunity to experience the intoxicating energy of art, nature, and music continued Kranzberg.

Ticket holders can bring their own blankets and lawn chairs. Tickets start at $22 for general seating, and include parking. Fifty cents from the sale of each ticket will be used to fund an arts scholarship program sponsored by the Laumeier Sculpture Park. Concession stands at LOMA will feature high quality food, upscale wine and beer selection and picnic baskets available for purchase.

For more than 25 years, Laumeier Sculpture Park has been a vibrant contributor to the community by presenting world-class sculpture exhibitions unique to the region, stated Jill McGuire, Executive Director of the Regional Arts Commission. The Regional Arts Commission supports Glen Gentele in continuing the LOMA concert series. Having

the opportunity to listen to great music, surrounded by amazing works of art in a beautiful setting is a wonderful addition to the quality of life we enjoy in St. Louis, McGuire continued.

LOMA is located in Laumeier Sculpture Park at the intersection of HWY 44 and HWY 270 at 12580 Rott Road. For directions and information, please call 314.821.1209 or visit www.laumeier.org. All concerts rain or shine.
