LIZZARD comprises: Katy Elwell on drums, William Knox on bass, and Mathieu Ricou on guitar & vocals.
The three met in 2006, and discovering they shared a common vision they took themselves away and set to work.and work; their aim being to create something unique, relevant and decidedly rock.
The results of their labours were a much praised, self-produced demo "LA CRIÉE", and a series of concerts throughout France in 2007 which left many audiences stunned and rapturous.
In 2008 LIZZARD recorded the mini-album "VENUS" with Rhys Fulber (Paradise Lost, Fear Factory, Front Line Assembly.) who loved their "marvellous poly-rhythmical sound". Great reviews followed, many remarking on LIZZARDs' nods to Tool, King Crimson, Sigur Ros etc, yet praising their originality and freshness.
2009 saw LIZZARD touring, opening for some of France's biggest rock head-liners (Gojira, Punish Yourself, Loudblast, Enhancer.). Although confined to working in France, LIZZARD, to their surprise, was receiving more and more attention from across the Atlantic.
2010: After opening a couple of shows for Carmine Appice (Vanilla Fudge, Cactus, Ozzy Osbourne.), Carmine declared himself a fan: "One of the coolest bands I've heard in ages! LIZZARD does rock!"
In 2011 LIZZARD travelled to Los Angeles to record their first full length album with Rhys Fulber. 6 weeks in the studio resulted in "OUT OF REACH", coming out on October 12th via the French label Klonosphere/Season of Mist,
