The Union (that’s us) is a 5-piece band from (mostly) South London. We write songs and then we go play them and people dance and sometimes get a bit too excited and have to be forcibly removed from the premises for various reasons, most unclear to us. We play our instruments and we take pride in writing music to make people feel. Whether it’s making them grin like a fool, howl in sorrow or remember what its like to be close to someone, music is made to affect and that’s what we do. The current line up has been together for just over 3 years, the past year encompassing 2 EP’s, and moving from playing in community centres to headlining the Brixton Jamm and interviews for indie style webzine’s (e.g. Dirrty Glam). By force or diplomacy, we’re taking London by the ears. Followed by the feet, otherwise no one will be dancing and where’s the fun in that. Our philosophy is that stand up good tunes supported by frenetic live shows is where it’s at. Which is lucky because that’s what we do best anyway. Enjoy.
