Latin Grammy nominated songwriter Lisa Greene lists artists as widely varied as the legend that is Tom Jones, the pop genius of Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue, the classical overtones of RyanDan and rock bands such as The Click 5, on her resumé.
She is about to start the next part of her incredible journey as a fully fledged recording artist in her own right with a recently completed album of completely original and beautiful songs, recorded in New York, Los Angeles and London featuring an incredible array of legendary musicians.
The record has been mixed by the man behind all of Michael Jackson's albums, Bruce Swedien, who describes Lisa as "an incredible new artist." He goes on, "After I received some demos of her work, I immediately felt that I should be a part of her career. I would describe her work as rooted in jazz, combining some retro elements with a very fresh, modern approach. She's a very talented songwriter and boy, can she sing!"
Born to a single mother in Zimbabwe and of English, African, German Jewish and Scottish descent, Lisa started her career in music as a secretary in a London recording studio using every available opportunity she could to start honing her craft of songwriting. Her break materialized when an A & R executive from Warner Chappell heard two of her songs on a showreel for another writer they wanted to sign, which began her career in music.
It wasn't long before her songs were featuring on albums by Britney Spears ("Breathe On Me," which featured in the worldwide advertising campaign for Britney's "Fantasy" perfume as well as her "In the Zone" album), Kylie Minogue, Lindsay Lohan, Girls Aloud, Rachel Stevens, Emma Bunton and Holly Valance to name but a few. Alongside this she received a Latin Grammy nomination (Best Rock Song for the single, "Lipstick" with Alejandra Guzman) plus songs for American Idol and Eurovision (Kate Ryan with "Je T'Adore" which was a number one for six weeks).
She has most recently worked with the legendary Tom Jones and co-written songs with him (a first in his career) including the spellbinding title track to his critically acclaimed album "24 Hours". Also in 2009 her songs have featured on number one albums by French superstar Christophe Willem and Australian siren Natalie Bassingthwaighte.
Although still writing for other acts Lisa has taken the time to concentrate on her own material (influenced by her love of artists such as Billie Holiday and Carole King) recently completing a year and a half writing, recording and arranging new material in London, New York and Los Angeles.
She assembled a dream team of musicians including,
Jerry Dodgion on saxophone and flute (Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Herbie Hancock, Dinah Washington, Benny Goodman, Count Basie)
Frank Marocco on accordion ("The Godfather II and III" Soundtracks, Frank Sinatra, Nina Simone, Tony Bennett, Rosemary Clooney)
Ira Ingber on guitar (Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson, Bonnie Raitt)
Sinclair Lott on drums (Doris Day, Frank Zappa)
Ron King on trumpet (Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis, George Benson, Marvin Gaye, "Ocean's 11")
Adam Cohen on bass (Ray Charles, Connie Stevens, Mark Isham)
Rich Eames on piano (Keely Smith, Glen Campbell, Peter Cetera)

The album is co-produced and arranged by Lisa and Nigel Lowis (Dina Carroll, Luther Vandross, Stevie Wonder). She adds, "Nigel and I are on exactly the same page, musically. Although we are from different generations, we both grew up listening to the same music, so it was a perfect creative match and it was wonderful working with him." It also contains new songs co written with Steve Anderson (Kylie Minogue) and Johnny Douglas (George Michael).
The album is mixed by Bruce Swedien (Michael Jackson, Dizzy Gillespie, Sarah Vaughan, Dinah Washington, Diana Ross, Barbra Streisand, Natalie Cole, Roberta Flack, Duke Ellington). Of Bruce, Lisa says, "If there was any thrill that I could say I have had in my life, it was having the opportunity to work with such an amazing, kind and creative legend. Mr. Bruce Swedien is "it" as far as I am concerned. He is as great as it gets!"

As with all Bruce Swedien projects, the album has been mastered by Bernie Grundman who comments, "Lisa's voice has a very romantic, intimate sound and the arrangements are big, with strings and excellent orchestration". Lisa is currently in rehearsals for forthcoming live shows where she will be able to premiere the new songs in the environment they were intended to be heard.
