False Realm

These are false realms we believe in

and therefore, live

you judge her feelings

while she loves being

like a bird loves the air that lifts it,



and senses your sight

fixed, as a hunter’s through a scope.



What are your words,

but a mirror of some wayward instinct?



Consider the realms deep chasms

in which no light shines,

myths clinging to bodily existence



like windows that catch the bird in fast flight,

our minds stopped dead by illusion



Cast aside the stagnant water

of ways that do not flow

awaken to what is



and see woman --



She is real and whole

which no judgment defines



and your heart will understand the other

with Love



and your eyes will observe newly

through a Soul on fire.

This Flame

All that is bright and new has a source.

All that is lightless and unliving was once burning.



There is a flame for each thing that is felt or known,

Moving or still, that can be lit only by belief.Yesterday was today and today was tomorrowAnd our soul flies back and forth from the center, home.Tomorrow I may enter our body through another window

I wrote the lines to "This Flame" above after an experience while praying. I believe we're all one in the spirit of God and I hope you'll listen to the message in my simple song "One Spirit".



My poetry evolved into songwriting and now I write songs nearly every day. "Keeping You This Time" made Runner Up for Song of the Year November 2006 - link is above. Ged Roman arranged & performs "Keeping You This Time". I sang on "There's a Train" (had a cold when I sang!) so there you have it. My song "You and I" was on the Suggested Artist list for Song of the Year 2004 and "Keeping You This Time" was mentioned in November 2006 for Song of the Year. What else? I had the opportunity, together with my friend Oh Jae Shin, to write the English lyric translations for the Korean Won Buddhist worldwide temple hymn book, some of which were sung at the Keswick Theater in Glenside, PA during the opening ceremony for the Won Buddhist Graduate Studies Institute.I Journey a DreamI journey a dream of lifeThe river that is and is notAnd I hold nothing dearFor nothing is mine to hold.I too, am and am notI dream this journey of a prayerAnd I am no one and nothingIn journeying here to here.
