Lion Melta was born in the Parish of St. Thomas,

Jamaica, West Indies. As a youth growing up hip-hop

was his thing. His rap style brought fiyah to the

halls of Seaforth School. From that point on the

Mission was to bring the heat to the U.S.A.

In the winter of ’95 he touched the grounds of Queens,

New York. “Lion Melta the girl dem Shelta” had

arrived. He wasted no time by winning talent contests

like in 96 from the very popular radio program “Kings

& Queens” on WNWK.

As a songwriter Lion Melta continues to build a solid

variety of lyrics ranging from hardcore dancehall to

culture & conscience messages. With similar style to

that of Capelton & Sizzla, Lion Melta has dominated

the underground industry. Ready for the mainstream
