STARletto aka STAR - Born Aushley Chanelle Patterson, on January 6th, 1990 in Tallahassee, Fl. destined her for greatness. Star was also raised Tallahassee but soon moved to Jacksonville, Fl. Bred in a house with six uncles, she developed a business mentality and a go-getter attitude. At a young age, she was always an independent person who never liked relying on others, even so to the point where she could care less about an allowance, an got on her own hustle of burning and making cds of the hottest music for family and friends for a sizeable fee. The now 19year old hip-hop artist, poet, songwrtier, Disc Jockey (DJ), and promoter, has



evolved into a more well rounded artist from listening to a diverse selection of music, from Hip-Hop, R&B, Soul, Blues, Jazz, and classic 80's Rock. Growing up in a southern community influenced much musical culture upon her. Uncle Luke's era of booty music was the biggest, "Star could imitate any rapper's lyrics at a young age, I saw in her a swag that no one had, she was smooth, there was a point where I thought she had written the lyrics herself", said one of her uncles.

Star soon moved to Jacksonville Florida in 2003-04. She attended OPJH(8th), OPH(9th), then attended Robert E. Lee High School where she had began her musical journey and where she formulated an all female group called Str-8 Pressha. The group consisted of a former persona of hers, "Dat Gurl Tazzy" and another girl, Yung Trill. They soon became their own producers and audio engineers when they ventured upon a program called ACID MUSIC STUDIOS. Even with such mediocre tools such as a flemsy Wal-mart mic, Star managed to get the group's mixtape project off the ground with fifteen polished tracks in only three short weeks during the summer of '06. They returned to school and created a huge buzz. With already a name for herself with selling mix cds at school, it wasn't too long before this hustler made everyone stop and take a listen to a STAR in the making. Later on after their hard earned success, the group dismantled and STR-8 Pressha was no more.



The next year in '07 Star decided to try it again but this time SOLO with a more marketable style and name. During the spring her career sky rocketed back to the top with the smash hit single "He Like It". Since then making rants and raves all over the city, brought on performances at numerous venues such as countless club spots, birthday parties, school functions, and even charity events this artist is truly next to blow. From spins on the radio by WJBT 93.3 The Beat to performing in front of large masses of spectators Star at the end of the day is a diamond in the ruff awaiting to shine.



Now after graduating high school, she is currently furthering her education in Tallahassee, Fl and attending Florida A&M University, majoring in Civil Engineering. Through a long time facing trials and tribulations of life, Star has taken all the negativity in her life and has changed it to a positive fuel enabling her to reach heights of success unimaginable.
