I was born a poor Filipino child in Boston, MA. My family moved to Virginia Beach, VA when I was 3 months old and I spent the next 18 years plotting my escape. Thanks to my trumpet teacher, Gary Gompers, I was able to return to Boston 19 years later and attend The New England Conservatory, where I studied with Charlie Schlueter, principal trumpet of the Boston Symphony.
From there I kept on moving: one year at the Utrecht Conservatory studying with Aarto Hoornweg, principal of the Rotterdam Symphony, four years in Richmond, VA, studying with Rolla Durham and John D'earth, three years in Japan, teaching high school girls how to speak English, 3 years in Santa Barbara learning how to cook, and three years in Los Angeles teaching kids how to play the piano, guitar, trumpet, trombone, sax, and/or recorder.
Currently in LA, I have played in chamber ensembles, indie rock bands, cover bands, hippie bands, and hip hop bands, including the Ceci Bastida, Julian Casablancas, Lenka, Pierre de Reeder, The Paula Kelley Orchestra, Medusa and Feline Science, the monte carlo band, Spencer the Gardener, the Jane Does, Banquet Hall, Mandorico, Lounge-O-Rama, A.M. Pacific, Story of M, and Otis.
I am the leader of the band, monte carlo, which is available for events(weddings, receptions, bar/batmitzvahs, etc).
If you are in need of a trumpet player, I am available for live shows and recordings.
