Born and raised in Manhattan, Louisa expressed a creative bent from her early years as a visual artist and musician. She grew up in a creative environment that included her father, world renown bassist Cecil McBee, and brother, guitar bassist Cecil McBee Jr. Louisa's mother, Lucia McBee, is an artist and writer and her brother, Cary Paul McBee is an entrepreneur. Louisa flourished in this artistic environment and brought her own exceptional creative talents to blossom. She trained in classical and jazz vocals starting at age 12. She graduated from SUNY Purchase with a BA in Studio Composition. Touring with The All City Choir accelerated her career with performances at Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall, as well as solo appearances for the National Teachers Conference. Influenced by an intriguing mix of Billie Holiday, Bjork and Mariah Carey, Louisa is one of New York's top pop vocalists and leading ladies of synthesis.
