THE ORKESTRA RUMPILEZZ

The Brazilian instrumental music comes from two sources: Samba, Baião and their derivated rhythms. Both are largely used as base for improvisation. With the idea of exchanging experiences to develop new ways to transform the instrumental music, the musician Letieres Leite brought a group of knowledgable musicians regarding bahian rhythms. The project includes some well known atabaque players (the alabes), various percussionists and a good number of brass and woodwind musicians already involved with bahian instrumental music. The intention of this group is to find new alternatives for improvisation of Brazilian instrumental music.
The Orkestra Rumpilezz is the result of this experience. All the compositions and arrangements were made by Letieres Leite, created from the claves and percussive rhythms already existent in this Universe of the Bahian Percussion.----------------------------------------------

A orquestra é formada por 5 músicos de percussão (atabaques, surdos, timbaus, caixa, agogô, pandeiro ,caxixi,) e 14 músicos de sopro (4 trompetes, 4 trombones, 2 saxes alto, 2 saxes tenor, 1 sax barítono e 1 tuba).
As composições são inspiradas desde os toques dos Orixás do culto do Candomblé, como tambem de grandes agremiações percussivas como: Ilê Aiyê, Olodum, Sambas do Recôncavo, dentre outras referências rítmicas.***
No ano de 2006, a Orkestra Rumpilezz iniciou suas apresentações. Dentre elas se destacam a Semana Iguatemi de Moda (SIM), o Festival de Música Instrumental da Bahia (T.C.A.), MercadoCultural, Festival PERC-PAn,Festival BNB(ceará), Teatro ACBEU, Teatro VilaVelha, Realiza temporadas na Casa da Bossa, na Boomeranque,e no Pelourinho Cultural.
