"Passion and aggression. They are two traits I seek out from bands, but they are also two of the tougher traits to ascribe to a band. Obviously if you make music you should have some sort of passion for it, it doesn't take much just a desperate feeling that you need to make music. Aggression, well it's pretty simple too don't you think, a little bit of rage, a healthy dose of anger, and a sped up tempo should just about set you on your course to getting aggression notched under your belt. But for whatever reason there are a lot of bands these days that just don't get these two important aspects in the music they are making, Le Rug is not one of those bands. Instead, this Brooklyn band is showing passion and aggression with each note of each song. The music is furious in it's delivery and it's approach, and the band truly wears it's hard on its sleeve. When passion and aggression are combined like they are all over Le Rug's music it's a beautiful thing. Take a listen, see what I mean. It's undeniable." -Pop Tarts Suck Toasted

Sometimes I like to wonder what music would be like if there was no money involved, or if guitars had been invented in the year 2000. I reckon the music out there would be experimental, chaotic, uncomfortable, varied, hazardous and genius. A bit like Ray's recent incarnation, Le Rug.

If you like clean, crisp tunes that have polished guitars and well thought through lyrics, maybe this band is not for you. I particularly like the lines:

“you are everything to me, read me stories wont you please” Lions [as I like stories also]

"they can't be right you know its true, they are so bright but they're not you" Telebones [a line for anyone with inspirational friends]

These tunes can boast at being triumphantly rustic and joyously chaotic and leaves me once again thinking excitedly about Year Zero non-profit music. The use of two drums sets heigthens the dancable rythm, adding to the loud nature of the live shows. At 19, Ray has already forgotten about conforming to a major label, and has released two albums in 2007 alone. That total is on par with The Killers output this decade.
