DESCRIPTION:
Lenny Dee performing "Southern Nights" on November 2, 1982 at his club, Lenny Dee's Kings Inn at Treasure Island, Florida. Lenny plays his customized white Hammond Model A. At 2:45 into the video is the solovox, an small single-keyboard instrument attached to Lenny's Model A. A "growling" voice on the solovox was a trademark of Lenny's unique sound. On drums is Lenny's son, J. R.. Singer Pete Brady introduces Lenny. This is a clip from a personal video. This is the only video I am aware of that shows Lenny playing his custom white model A Hammond (please let me know if you aware of any other videos of Lenny playing this instrument!). This was the beginning of the second of two shows Lenny played in his club that evening.
