"PARIS TO BERLIN"
Soon (28th of October in GAS and Spain and the 26th of November) my third album "Paris to Berlin" is going to released. It's produced by me and my dear friend Mats Björke from Mando Diao. I wanted to do something different from my sounde on my first two albums. Wanted to move away from the blues and country sound. So, I hope you still like my sound! I'm very satisfied with it and hope to see you out there! Tour in Germany in November!
REVIEWS:
"From Stockholm, Sweden, comes a source of sensational Americana music. With her unique, exceptionally expressive vocals, Lena Malmborg delivers terrific songs. "Peace of Mind" and "I'm Longing For You" are strong, bluesy numbers. "No No No" is a lilting, alt-folk-country tune, spiced up with a biting electric guitar solo. The instantly memorable "Good Time" is a stylistic departure, exhibiting a bit of a Kurt Weill feel."

"I've been studying the female vocalists of Scandinavia with increasing attention lately. My theory is that alot of Scandi gals have a knack for diving into classic genres and redefining them from the inside out, or at least giving an extra edge to styles that often seem watered down in the US. Few things excite me more than encountering a new female vocalist who's got that edge, and so the debut solo album by Lena Malmborg made me positively giddy. Malmborg, a bluesy singer/songwriter from the southern Swedish town of Värnamo, tells on her website of being influenced early on by Muddy Waters, and later discovering the Rolling Stones, Emmylou Harris and Dylan. But what's so cool about this album is that even though this potent combination of swing blues and gritty country is reminicent of names you probably know, Malmborg has a singular style that owes little to anyone else. Her voice is both a bit raspy and texturally intoxicating. Every line she delivers goes down like a fine whiskey--you wince just slightly, then you're increasingly warmed and enveloped by the obviously pure ingredients. This is an amazingly well-produced (Malmborg shared production chores with Daniel Johansson), energetically performed album. Striking just the right balance between edgy and smooth, Lena Malmborg's superb album is for me, one of the nicest surprises of the year so far."

"Malmborg's "A New Time, A New Life, A New Religion" (Crying Bob) is a wonderful debut album that shows off her talent as a songwriter as well as her unique and evocative vocals. She had me at "Good Time" and held my attention all the way through "Where Shall I Lay All My Love," the CDs final track. Malmborg's debut is a romp through the highs and lows of love, the insecurities, and the regrets that we all accumulate if we spend enough time on the planet. In "I'm Longing for You" she laments a love gone by as she sings "Told myself a thousand times, that I should have followed you." The bottom line is that love is pleasure and pain at once, but as humans we always have the power to reinvent ourselves, to find ourselves in a new time, with a new life, and a new religion. If this debut represents her conversion, then we are all better off for the experiences that enabled her to bring us this amazing piece of work."

BIO:
I was born in a little town in the southern of Sweden called Värnamo. On my 9th birthday my eleven year older brother Anders gave me the best gift ever; an LP record with Muddy Waters. At once I fell in love, and the following birthdays I only wanted records from my brother, because he knew my taste. I can now see that it have affected my taste in music very much. I still love the basic elements and ideas of the blues music.
My debut album "A new time, a new life, a new religion" was released in May 2006 (in Sweden, and in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Spain 2007). The ep "Good Time EP" was released the 28th of March 2007. In april 2008 my second full length album "Real Love" was released. Right now (January 2010) my third album is soon ready and is planned to be released later this spring! XXXXXXXXXX
