It was the first day of high school. Maja Thorén sat herself down next to the girl who looked like she loved The Kinks as much as she did - Birgitta Linder. A symbiotic friendship started.

A few years later the part as Percival was available in a production of Lord of the Flies. Maja took it. The part of Simon was played by Maria Loohufvud. In the play Simon is killed by, among others, Percival. The stage costume required the ability to tie a nice tie knot, something they would make use of later on.

A few years further on, it was a drunken night out, Maja, Birgitta and Maria visualized their dream band, Maja afterwards lied to a concert arranger and said that she already had a band just like that. The band simply had to come true. Maria, at the time living in Gothenburg, packed her bags and moved to Stockholm.

The original setting consisted for the most part of the girlfriends of a male rock band, who weren't suspecting that they were about to get exceeded by their girlfriends. Linda B. Elgemark and Lisa Hägglund took place behind the synthesizers, Birgitta grabbed her guitar, Maja the bass and Maria the microphone. Lotta Nordström was recruited as a drummer, hatched the bands name and then quit. The first concert was booked, but the band had no drummer. Maria knew one, but only a little. She nervously called Johan Nordlind who gladly accepted. The only problem was that he had a mustasche. After a few hours of rehearsing, with a wicked disco beat, his place in the band was given.

As time passed both Linda and Lisa needed to cut back on the music. New keyboardists were needed. By the cd-collection at a party Birgitta met Annie Hellquist. At the question "Do you play keyboard", she answered "No", whereupon she was offered the place in the band. Annie took it without hesitating. Maria Thorstensson was at this time mourning the break-up from her former band, and didn't quite feel ready for a new relationship. But when she met Le muhr, it was love at first sight. She took place behind the other keyboard.

And that's the band today, Maria, Birgitta, Maja, Johan, Annie and Maria. Lately they've been commuting to the deep woods of Värmland, they've been hiding from the sun in a garage in Solna and been packed together in a bachelor's flat, recording their first album. All to give you goose bumps and send shivers down your spine.

Le Muhr's first album, "Generation Destruktiv" was released the 25th of April at Diapazam. Buy it at www.cdon.com!
