"Lee Griffiths is an amazing singer songwriter who's been knocking around Manchester for years. I ran into him on the street the other day and he was surprised that I recognised him. I don't know why he thought I'd forget him - he's got an amazing voice and he's a very very talented man. --
He's rough round the edges, he's very definitely a Manc. If you get John Martyn, mix him up with a little bit of. well, you'll hear it in his voice. His music speaks for itself." Guy Garvey, BBC radio 6
Discovered as a youthful soul prodigy by Paul Morley in the late 90s, Lee Griffiths was signed swiftly to ZTT Records in 1990's. 'Northern Songs', produced by Trevor Horn, followed, but views on what Lee's music was about, were radically different. Lee returned to civilian life in North Manchester, writing what in 2007 became his stunning second album, 'Armchair Anarchy' (produced by Ian Grimble). The album was featured by BBC radio 6 and BBC radio 2 among others and Lee gigged extensively, also supporting Marc Almond on his tour in the same year.
Today one man's voyage has grown into a family. With a new London location, the band includes Sam Kelly (ex Groove Armada etc) on drums, Cheyne Towers (ex-Jimpster etc) on bass Colin Ridyard on acc guitar and bv's,and scratch wizard Wayne Sealy on turntables. The band is currently rehearsing and writing new material for an upcoming EP release and the third albumKeep 'em ears open.
