LEANNA FORMS HER OWN PROJECT - KARMA 101 ( www.myspace.com/karma101music or click on first friend below ): AFTER A 2.5 YEAR SABBATICAL IN THE SOUTHERN US, LEANNA RETURNS TO HER NATIVE LONG BEACH bringing her KARMA 101 music and band concept to the Southern California region.

During 2006 Leanna joined and provided her unique vocal stylings to: MOMBASA CODE (www.mombasacode.com), in Texas. She was also the vocalist for established San Antonio group: PSEUDO BUDDHA (www.myspace.com/pseudobuddha)

Leanna is working on her next CD project (eclectic/alternative/world music/experimental style). She is also collaborating with several different established musicians and bands.working in varied styles as lead vocalist.

The original tracks up on myspace are just a sample of the vocal styles Leanna has the ability to emmulate. With her training in jazz & classical voice, and her exposure, study and performance on stage within a multitude of musical styles (including Salsa).Leanna has the ability to engulf the mic with a fresh sound, bringing an eclectic array of emotion and deepth to her music. Her voice brings ethereal elements to the instrumentals. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~SHE PLAYS:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~HARMONIUM: Leanna plays the unique and rare Harmonium (hand pumped reed organsits on your lap/floor or stand, used in a lot of Hindu/Indian music, orginated in Europe). With the rare sounds of this amazing instrument.Leanna has been experimenting successfully with vocal improvizations and chanting over this captivating instrument.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~THEREMIN: Leanna plays the one of a kind Theremin. The Theremin has been played by the likes of: Aerosmith, Beach Boys, Black Eyes Peas, Cyndi Lauper, David Gray, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, & Talking Heads.

Besides looking like no other instrument, the theremin is unique in that it is played without being touched. Two antennas protrude from the theremin - one controlling pitch, and the other controlling volume. As a hand approaches the vertical antenna, the pitch gets higher. Approaching the horizontal antenna makes the volume softer. Because there is no physical contact with the instrument, playing the theremin requires precise skill and perfect pitch.
