‘The Thrashing Bastards of Mayhem’ was formed with Loz on drums and his best mate Div on a chain saw – aged 16.

Two years later Loz signed to Creation Records with his new band ‘Ride’. They then went on to release four albums (‘Nowhere’: Gold Disc, ‘Going Blank Again’: Silver Disc, ‘Carnival of Light’ and ‘Tarantula’). Their live work included two world tours, Glastonbury Festival (Main Stage), Reading Festival (supporting Public Enemy), Albert Hall (twice), several Top of the Pops appearances, a live performance for The Word, plus many other TV shows outside the UK. Magazine awards were Best New Band: Melody Maker 1991, Best Album ‘Nowhere’: NME 1993, and most recently ‘Nowhere’ was voted number 39 in Best 100 UK Albums ‘of all time’: NME 2006. After the band split up, they played together only once. This was to improvise a sound to accompany the Channel 4s Sonic Youth Pioneers programme. A recording of this was released as an EP ‘Coming Up for Air’. The ‘OX4_The Best of Ride’ box set was released shortly after.

Loz became a member of ‘The Animalhouse’ and signed with BMG. Their work included one album (‘Ready to Receive’), two e.p.’s (‘Animal’ and ‘Small’), tours of Japan and the UK, a support concert for Oasis and they played Reading Festival in the UK and Fuji Rock in Japan.

Loz then enrolled at DrumTech College (Diploma) in London, UK and studied tabla hand drums with Master Sharde Sahai, playing in local Sikh Temples. He is currently studying Music (B.A.) in Oxford, UK.

Today Loz is playing drums for ‘The Jesus and Mary Chain’, having worked with Jim Reid touring his solo material. Gigs with them have included The Coachella Festival (USA), The David Letterman Show (USA) and as part of Jarvis Cocker’s event at The Royal Festival Hall (UK).

Loz is also DJ-ing, playing solo acoustic gigs (singing and playing guitar) and plays in International Jetsetters and the John Moore Rock and Roll Trio.
