The music of Latin at Heart can best be described as concept rock, and it is best compared to the original album rock of the late 70s and early 80s. The band's melodic rock repertoire has a nearly 50/50 English-to-Spanish mix. The Spanish songs have flamenco-ish hooks in the melodies, and the Spanish is refined and elegant. At first, the songs were all in Spanish and Latin at Heart might have been just another "latin rock" band. But Latin at Heart has evolved dramatically over the past year, i.e., the 2010-2011 interim. Half of the band's set of unique melodic rock is now in English. "Latin" now means passion, love, lust, and romance, mostly.
