Writer, vocalist, and Harlem denizen, Latasha N. Nevada Diggs rigorously explores sound through a myriad of macaronic verse, language and electronic vocal processing and video. Her literary works have been featured in publications that include Rattapallax, Nocturnes, Polvo, Ego Trip, The Source, Urb, Vibe, Drum Voices Review, Black Music Review (Japan), Authentic Hair, Long Shot, and Bum Rush the Page, and Everything But the Burden and the Black Belt art catalog for the Studio Museum of Harlem.



Performing in venues ranging from Cal Arts, Sonar Electronic Music festival in Barcelona, The Asia Society in New York, The Ether Electrnoic Festival at the Royal Palace, London, and Rikers Island Womens Correctional facility, she has worked with Vernon Reid, DJ Logic, Akilah Oliver, Mike Ladd, Butch Morris, Gabri Christa, Shelley Hirsch, DJ Louie Vega, Burnt Sugar, DJ Jeannie Hopper, Ori Kaplan, Mendi Keith Obadike, Edwin Torres, and Vijay Iyer, to name a few. She has been featured on recordings by Ryuichi Sakamoto, Towa Tei, Billy Bass, Domenico Ferrari, Guillermo E. Brown, and the compilation Eargasms: Hip Hop Poetics, Volume 1.



A fellow of the Cave Canem Workshop for African American Poets, LaTasha has completed residencies at Caldera Arts Space, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Virginia Center for the Cretive Arts, Pocantico, and Harvestworks Digital Media Arts Center as well as received a Zora Neale Hurston scholarship from Naropa Institute and New York Foundation for the Arts fellowship.



Diggs is the author of three chap-books, Ichi-Ban: from the files of negr�ta mu�eca linda and Ni-ban: Villa Miser�a (MOH Press), and Manuel is destroying in bathroom (Belladona Press) as well as the producer and writer for the audio project, Televis�on. She is the lead electronic vocalist for two bands, the Yohimbe Brothers, fronted by Vernon Reid and DJ Logic and TBK, fronted by Guillermo E. Brown. LaTasha was the poetry curator for the online arts journal, www.exittheapple.com
As an independent curator/artistic director, she produced several music/literary events with the Black Rock Coalition.
With writer/musician Greg Tate, they will soon launch the literary arts journal Coon Bidness/SO4



She is currently sleeping with her mpc, writing for the next projects (whenever that happens), editing video and trying not to eat an egg and cheese on a bagel every morning.
