Heavy Metal, Hardcore, Modern Metal, Thrash, New Wave Of American Heavy Metal, Metalcore – the trends are ever changing and the bands trying to follow them come and go. In the end, only the ones remain who will not waste their talent in the short-lived major label industry - bands such as LAST ONE DYING who follow their own path consistently and independently from the Zeitgeist.
In 2006 LAST ONE DYING were already able to create a stir among the metal scene by releasing their EP „Anthems Of The Lost“. The 4-track CD received rave reviews in more than 20 magazines, putting them on the same level with bands like Killswitch Engage, Trivium, Caliban or Heaven Shall Burn. German Metal Hammer magazine even elected them „Demo of the Month“. This incredible response generated a lot of attention and rewarded the band with supporting gigs for Sepultura and sharing the stage with Lamb Of God, Unearth and many other popular metal bands.
LAST ONE DYING have been in existence since 3 years. Their debut album „The Hour Of Lead“ has been produced by Patrick „Pedi“ Karwatka. Although their sound incorporates elements of the aforementioned musical genres it cannot be categorized to a specific style. Songs such as the title track (what a hook!), the heavy hitters „Annabel Lee“ and „Hate Me“ (feat. Mantas, ex-Venom) or the mosh monster „Far Away“ all refer their excitement to the brutal beats and the highly melodic guitars as well as their complex vocals, which vary between clean vocals and massive shouts. A very noteworthy aspect: the technically demanding rhythm turns out very diversified without straining the dynamic.
This Cologne quintet has established an excellent reputation not only regionally but nationally as well by always providing sweat-inducing, powerful performances, drawing a crowd of up to 400 fans per show. LAST ONE DYING’s new masterpiece „The Hour Of Lead“ should easily increase that number and help the band to establish itself as one of the best newcomers within the metal genre.

An hour of lead - get fucking heavy!
