BEST PLACE EVER PLAYED: Nashville Star Hometown visit Fairfield, IL. The gym was packed and the energy and love in the room was overwhelming.
WORST PLACE EVER PLAYED: Salt Petre Cave, pronounced Salt Peter Cave in Murphysboro, Illinois. It was a beautiful location and beautiful day. Unfortunately only four people showed up. Two were family and the other two were strippers. I did sell CDs to half the crowd, not sure which half. Oh yeahwe didnt get paid either.
FIRST ALBUM OWNED: KC and the Sunshine Band
FIRST CONCERT ATTENDED: My Dad opening for Barbara Mandrell, Newton, IL 1974.
THE STORY BEHIND GETTING SIGNED: It started when Buddy Cannon introduced me to Tracy Gershon. I auditioned and later became a finalist on Nashville Star where Tracy and the Warren Brothers were judges. After NS, Tracy came out to see me at a show at the Exit/In in Nashville. The Warren Brothers were already working with me by this time. To make a long story short, it is because of Tracy Gershon and the Warren Brothers belief in me that I have a deal today.
FIRST PERSON YOU CALLED AFTER GETTING YOUR DEAL: My wife
WORDS OF WISDOM/WORDS TO LIVE BY/BEST ADVICE EVER RECEIVED: I think everyone reaches an age when you look back at what your parents taught you, and wonder if it all makes sense. I went through that a few years back. My Dad told me to borrow the good things I had learned from him, and throw the rest away. Dad said, Sometimes when you follow in your familys footsteps, it makes the rut deeper.
