Miss L.A. Cartier

L.A. Cartier is an R&B singer/songwriter from Tottenham, North London.

She is also a university student studying Psychology and Criminal behaviour.

L.A. started singing at a young age, but started getting noticed at the age of 13 when she began to write and perform at talent showcases and events all over the UK and overseas. She has performed alongside many artists that are well known today.

L.A. has collaborated with artists such as Wretch 32 and Mark Asare; she also collaborated with Benny Bizzie on a song called ‘Angry’, which charted at number 6 in the Channel U charts in 2006.



Her Music has been featured on numerous Compilation CDs and DVD’s such as R U Listening, Street Soul Stars - put together by ‘UK Street Sound’- and the ‘Salute The Streets’ DVD.



Throughout her career L.A. has contributed her music to positive projects. She has previously been involved in a project that organized dance shows to raise money for The Great Ormond Street Hospital and has also performed at Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraisers.



L.A. has just finished shooting her first solo video for an R&B song entitled ‘Must Be Crazy’, originally produced by Lazy and re-mixed by Stickman.



L.A. is continuing to write and record new music.

L.A. has recently released a Funky House track entitled ‘Call me’, produced by Fuzzy Logik. ‘Call Me’ has been featured as ‘Tune of the Week’ and is also on the BBC1Xtra, Choice FM and Kiss play list. The song has been played by DJ’s such as Pioneer, Supa D, Cameo and Footloose.

The song received 2731 downloads in the first few hours of it being available and is in high demand on the UK club circuit.

L.A. has performed in various locations including, Honey Club, Brighton and Sound Nightclub, Leicester Square. She also performed the track in Amsterdam in May 2009.

‘Call Me’ can also be found on the Ministry of Sound UK Funky Compilation CD which is available from all music retailers such as HMV and is also available for download on all major online stores.



'Must be Crazy'



‘Must Be Crazy is L.A.’s forthcoming single. Produced by Lazy and re-mixed by Stickman, ‘Must Be Crazy’ written by L.A. is an R&B track fused with Hip Hop.



The concept of the song is L.A.’s determination to succeed in the music industry. With lyrics such as “people never thought that I would make it, but now I’m here to see the crown and take it…” the song talks about her struggle to highlight her talent and because of this she feels she cant be compared to anyone else, which is emphasized in the songs chorus.



The video was shot in March 2009 in Luton television studios.
