"One of 5 of the hottest tracks in the world right now"

"Katie (K-Swing) teams up with Londoner Beber for her debut outing and she really turns out an awesome tune here. “This is the Sound” has a rockin moody vibe with cool guitar effects and drawn out sounds that really build perfectly. Label boss Adam Freeland drops his version on the flip giving it more of an electro-house vibe. Both cuts are excellent and worth the price of the 12."

".a lush slice of atmospheric breakbeat that should work well

for the deeper headz among us. There's a real tribal feel to this, and I can't

help but think about that cosmic breaks booty of Smashing Pumpkins' 1969

whenever I hear this. And this sublime sonic delight is paired with a

choppy, hoppy re-rub from Adam Freeland who takes a stompy, Digitalism-style

approach. Damn fine to say the least."- I-DJ Magazine

"Together they create a lush piece of club music which takes on the Marine Parade sound. Great 12."-covert.co.uk reviewClick to View

".they present the deep and delicious sounds of 'This Is The Sound', which is outstanding and builds and builds into a monstrous breakbeat soundscape."

K-SWING (AKA Katie Kabel) has achieved astonishing success in a very short period of time. She was nominated for the Best Breakthrough DJ Award at the 2004 Dancestar USA: American Dance Music Award Show and has been featured in the pages of top dance and lifestyle magazines including URB, DJ Mag, Teen Vogue, Remix, BPM and Loft.

After playing just about every major club in America and Canada, her reputation carried overseas and people took notice. In 2005, Katie brought her signature style of impeccably programmed, deep, rhythmic and infectious break beat and electro house music to some of England’s most prestigious clubs and events. She was also invited to provide a guest mix for UK Radio 1’s “Queen of Breaks” Annie Nightingale’s show, a very great honor.

In 2006 she was signed to Adam Freeland’s Marine Parade record label. Her first release, “This Is The Sound,” (co-produced with the infamous British producer BEBER), was hailed as “one of the 5 hottest tracks in the world…” by the legendary Pete Tong on his “In New Music We Trust” program on Radio 1 in the UK. It also received tremendous support from other Radio DJs like the Trophy Twins, Annie Nightingale and Eddie Temple Morris. Adam Freeland & Sebi Spanks did a brilliant Electro remix on the B-side.

Katie spent over 20 years of her life as a classically trained singer and dancer. She taught jazz, ballet, and modern dance for many years. As a teenager, her continuous thirst for music and motion propelled her into the dance community, where she was drawn to the sounds of break beat for its deep and funky bass lines. Katie found it to offer the most freedom of movement, interpretation and self-expression of all forms of dance music. With her remarkable DJ skills and her passion for music and dance (not to mention her beauty and natural charisma), she started playing regularly at some of the American East Coast’s top nightclubs and parties. This brings us to the present where K-Swing is no longer just a favorite on America’s east coast, but she has also made some serious noise across the entire continent of North America and now she’s gaining fans throughout the world.
