“A True Hustler Never Waits!” Those are the words you will hear on Dj HeadBussa’s voicemail, and see tattooed on his chest. Those words couldn’t describe him any better.
A recent winner of the 2007 Gainesville Music Summit “DJ of the Year” award, Dj HeadBussa, a.k.a. Mr. Krank Up, can be seen at almost any and every entertainment event, club, and conference in the entire Southeast region!
When you first meet Dj HeadBussa, you can sense a determined and self-motivated individual. You’ll notice a certain aura about him, and notice that he is someone who is focused and puts 110% into all he does. Not to mention you’ll notice his straw Panama Jack beach hat that he always has on! It’s very rare that you catch him without it.
Originally from Orange County (Orlando, FL), HeadBussa moved to Tampa in 1999 to attend college. While going through what most college students go through during school, being broke; DJ HeadBussa devised his own way to make some extra money by making CDs and selling them out of his dorm room. After getting into a little altercation, he decided to turn a negative into a positive and got a job at the college radio station, 1620 WBUL THE UNDERGROUND. Thus DJ HeadBussa was created. After graduating from The University of South Florida in 2004, DJ Headbussa burst onto the music scene and has never looked back.
Dj HeadBussa has provided music for almost every club in the Tampa Bay area: XS, Bahasa, Club Atlanta, Full Moon Saloon, Da’ Underground and Club112 to name a few, and has hosted several parties. Known in the streets of the Tampa Bay Area as an “Ultimate Hustler”, HeadBussa has created his own lane and is on track to leave a major mark in the entire state of Florida!
You may have heard of the name Dj HeadBussa through his street worthy Krank Up Mixtape Series, with hosts such as David Banner, Strizzo, Granddaddy Souf, LB (wordofsouth.com) & Haitian Fresh. This mixtape series, which Dj HeadBussa funds himself, is catered to independent artists and notable mid-majors, giving them that much needed exposure within the southeast region.

Along with other another street heavy mixtapes, “16 in the Clip and 1 in the Chamber Mixtape Series”, this particular mixtape gives artists a chance to lay a hot 16 bars over a instrumental provided by Dj HeadBussa. And the most recent mixtape F.U.P.M; (Fuck U Pay Me) series will feature individual acts, or as HeadBussa likes to call it, “his version of a Gangsta Grill or RNR!” Not to mention, Headbussa has hosted a plethora of mixtapes for: The Blackjack Boys USF (You Stay Forever,) Battle of I-4, the H.U.L.I.G.E.E.S, Flem Blak ,Luch Million, Hard-Target, Chill Da Million Dollar Man, Numbas and many more!

If that wasn’t enough, HeadBussa is a member of C.Wakeley’s GateKeepers. You can’t help but to think what else can he possibly do?
Until he reaches his long term goal of becoming an A&R Executive for a major label, and becoming a director and/or starring in movies, who knows what Dj HeadBussa will be getting his hands into in the near future? At this rate, this Ultimate Hustler won’t have to wait for success that much longer.
