KOY - Urban Beach Pop made in Berlin.



Die Berliner Melange KOY setzt sich aus Sänger und Texter Karlo Hackenberger (BIG LIGHT „trouble is", CAM-ERA „comfort to the moon"), Multiinstrumentalist Toby Weyrauch (DELICATE „careless"), Produzent und Keyboarder Raphael Schalz (GROSSSTADT-GEFLÜSTER „ich muss gar nichts“), Basser Peter Knak (DELICATE) und Schlagzeuger Steffen Zimmermann (DELICATE) zusammen.



Die erste EP „THE SINGLES" produzierte Sven Hauesler und veröffentlichte FLEXIDISC / SAGE-RECORDS. Es folgte eine REMIX-VINYL mit Mixen bekannter und befreundeter DJs und Produzenten ( MIJK VAN DIJK, NAMITO, NACHLADER, BRIAN LEVIN, JENS OETTRICH).



In kompletter Eigenregie produzierten KOY 2008 ihr Album „KILLER“. Zusammen mit dem Produzenten und mittlerweile auch KOY-Keyboarder Raphael Schalz (Grossstadtgeflüster) entstanden so 13 neue Tracks, die erwachsener und dennoch verspielt klingen.



Auf ihrer Debut - EP „THE SINGLES“ klangen KOY noch gelb, auf ihrem Album „KILLER“ klingen sie schwarz. Der Goldfisch taucht von der sonnigen Oberfläche nun auch mal in düstere Gefilde ab. Erwachsener Pop mit eingängigen Hooks und Melodien. Cool, tanzbar und dennoch mit einem Ohrenzwinkern zu hören.



P.S.: Der Name KOY setzt sich aus Karlo und Toby zusammen;

um Verwechslungen mit dem Koi, japanischer Zuchtkarpfen,

Statussymbol und Investitionsobjekt,

vorzubeugen, bzw zu fördern.

KOY is yellow. KOY is summer. KOY was founded in 2003 by Toby Weyrauch (Delicate) und Karlo Hackenberger (Biglight, Cam-Era) in Berlin. Our uplifting URBAN BEACH POP gets you in a good mood, makes you smile and dance. sunshine! We released an EP "The Singles" (Sage Records), containing five Songs. In Addition to this we released a vinyl Re-mix album with mixes by Namito, Nachlader, Mijk van Dijk, Jens Oettrich and Brian Levin. We played quite a few concerts and festivals all over Germay. In 2008/09 we recorded our first album „KILLER“ and are very lucky to have Raphael Schalz (Grossstadtgeflüster) as a gifted producer and our new keyboard-player.



On their debut-CD "Singles" Koy sounded yellow. With their new album "Killer" the sound has turned to pitchblack. The goldfish has left the surface and is now diving into darker spheres. Grown up pop music, combining catchy hooks and melodies. Cool, danceable and witty at the same time.
