We are the Kool Aid Kids. We hail from the suburbs of Chicago. We play some kind of music that seems to resemble ska. We enjoy playing shows and writing songs. We have done quite a bit of both. You should check us out sometime at one of our shows. And then maybe buy our CD, cause we need money.

The History of the KAK . . .

The Kool Aid Kids were born in the fall of 2004. The idea was to have an enormous band so that there wouldn't be any people to be our fans. We failed at this, but only minimally. The original band consisted of Shaun, Omar, Frank, Maddi, Declan, Allyse, and Zach Golden. The Faye came along to sing. Zach "elected" to stay behind. With Faye, the KAK thought they might just dominant something. Then a kid named David joined with his saxophone. The KAK was getting closer to their set benchmark of 20 members. Sadly, 8 members would be where they would top out at. So then they started playing some shows. They kinda sucked really bad and then decided it would be best to practice their instruments and actually have band practices. Then came their first album, Is There Really Songs On This Thing?. Along came more shows and they began to suck less. Then Chris joined the band. Rejoice! David left the band. Then came some big shows and they hit mediocrity! Success!

Once mediocrity the KAK decided they should try making an album that didn't suck. This album would be released on Duckphone Records and be a split with Doctor Ed and the Flu Shots. Sweet! The release show happened. The album went up on iTunes. Killing! Then the KAK started playing all around the Chicago area. Maybe more fans? We will never know, although albums were sold to people. The KAK was rocking, but then came the day when the whole band went to college (forget that Maddi, Shaun, Faye, Omar, and Frank had been in college for a couple of years already.). Sad faces. Eventually it was decided that it was time to end the whole shebang with a show to end all shows. Then we opted to play at Clearwater because people might come. The show happened and there were lots of kids dancing and the Kool Aid Kids were no more. We had hoped the world would end that night, but we didn't get our wish. Damn. The world apparently does go on.

So . . .

Thanks for the memories.

love,

the Kool Aid Kids
