日本のクラブ創成期からシーンをリードし続け、2007年でプロDJ歴22年を数える。ハウス、テクノ、プログレッシヴなどジャンルレスで最先端の選曲だけでなく、独自のエキサイティングかつクールなグルーヴ感、クオリティ高いミックスセンスでも知られる。序盤から終盤への流れと組立てを大切にしフロアの雰囲気を作ることが得意という、本質的なDJスタイルで幅広いクラウドを満足させると定評。現在"KOOL"@YELLOW(毎月最終金曜日)、"EN" @代官山AIR(毎月第2木曜)、"HOUSE"@下北沢WEDGE(奇数月第１週目)のレジデントパーティを中心に活躍中。
1997年にスタートした自身のFUTIC RECORDINGS TOKYOでは木村コウの曲はじめ日本人クリエイターの良質な作品もリリースした。

In 2010 Ko Kimura celebrates 25 years of Djing. He taught himself how to dj in his teens and was one of the very first DJs in Japan to spin House music. Ko's dj style is in line with the flow of the night and making sure the crowd has a good time. Accompanying his precise dj skills and experiences, Ko always selects the most cutting-edge sound from the diverse and ever-changing global dance scene making him one of the most favorite and sought after djs in Japan.
Ko is a favorite DJ of top djs in the world such as long time friend Satoshi Tomiie, Dubfire, Carl Cox to name a few. Almost every time John Digweed plays in Japan, Ko Kimura plays alongside him. Ko was the 1st Japanese DJs to compile and mix Bedrock compilation series released in Japan by Pioneer LDC in 2001. Digweed also featured Ko on his renowned radio show "Transitions" 3 times over the years.
Ko has played in many of the clubs all over Japan throughout his career but one of the most memorable nights was his residency "KOOL" @ YELLOW where he played every weekend for 12 years up until 2008. After which, he launched his new resident nights, "REC●" at AIR in Tokyo, TROOP CAFÉ in Kobe, NUDE SUPPER CLUB in Takamatsu and MAGO in Nagoya. There are countless numbers of djs, promoters, club managers and magazine editors in the industry who are heavily influenced from Ko Kimura's amazing long sets. Internationally Ko has played all over the world. In Asian cities such as Taipei, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Macau, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai, and Seoul. Ko has also played in Guam, Honolulu, Houston, Miami, Sydney, Melbourne, Hannover, Amsterdam, Bogota, and cities in Belarus and the Ukraine. One of the highlights of his overseas gigs was playing at the Ministry of Sound in London.
In 1997 Ko launched his label FUTIC RECORDINGS TOKYO. After 12 releases in vinyl, the label now digitally releases tracks by talented Japanese producers via Beatport. He also formed the production unit MODEWARP with studio partner KAZUAKI NOGUCHI. You can find their work on the FUTIC label. Last year MODEWARP revealed their exciting live performance that captivated audiences. Since the early 80's, Ko has had a connection to the fashion industry leading to the support of brands such as Swatch, Calvin Klein and NIKE. He has been endorsed by Stussy for over 20 years as well other charismatic Tokyo street brands such as Neighborhood, Wtaps, realmadHectic, Supreme and Ptolemy just to name a few. He also advises many manufacturers such as VESTAX, ROLAND, AKAI, KORG, TECHNICS, ALLEN & HEATH, PIONEER and DENON on their DJ equipment.
