Knowing Stu Studio Preproduction Day1

Formed in August 2003 in central Florida, female fronted alternative rock band, Knowing Stu is able to mix their talents and influences to form their unique flavor. Knowing Stu’s alternative rock is a mixture of post-grunge infused melodic vocals and pure pop songwriting. Drawing from influences like U2 and Radiohead, and invoking the presence of No Doubt and Garbage, Knowing Stu has created a sound all to their own, without ignoring the basic elements of great song writing. Vocalist Tina Louise, “a 6-feet-high tower of power brimming with rock and roll vigor.” (Creative Loafing Magazine) delivers undeniable emotion through melodic hooks and identifiable lyrics. Guitarist Dean Johanesen provides an equally melodic sound with harmonious hooks, top-notch technique, and “riffs that are razor sharp”. Clay Custer (Bass) and Shane Warth (Drums) combine forces to become the “jet-stream rythm section”, that is among the best in rock music today. ‘Reflector’, the band’s latest full-length cd - Produced, engineered, and mixed by Jeff Tomei (Smashing Pumpkins, Matchbox20) and co-produced by the band in Summer of 2007 - the CD showcases the band’s knack for writing strong, sing-along hooks and stadium-sized guitar riffs.

“their new full-length teems with radio-ready tracks such as the opener ‘Never Knew.’” (Wade Tatangelo, Creative Loafing)
“Knowing Stu have been bashing out an engaging, slightly angst-laced blend of alt-pop hooks and metallic heft that wouldn't sound out of place amid any local rock station's Top Five at Five.” (Scott Harrell, Bradenton Herald)
