KK were formed in May 2006, Pocus being resident at Fudge (Liverpool), and Rory O being at the Pleasure Rooms. The 2 MC’s teamed up to form Killer Kombo and start planning the release the first volume of a lucrative series.
The first of the crews volumes was recorded in Steve Cocky’s high quality studio in Wirral. This producing a unique sound effect to all of the boys voices. DJ Crime provided the beats for the first volume and it was released in July 2005. Not knowing what the outcome would be, Rory O was cautious only producing a small amount of CD’s and releasing them in two stores, Seeds Records (Birkenhead) and the Pleasure Rooms CD shop, to see how well they would sell. Selling brilliantly the KK realised they had the support of the Merseyside public.
The lads started planning the second of the series and adding a special guest to the CD, MC Finchy. This CD sold even better and was added to Power Records (Wigan), were it sold superbly as in all the other shops, each CD selling out emphatically. The lads have now released 3 volumes in all, the 3rd being the most successful, they just keep going from strength to strength. KK held their own “Halloween Special” under 18’s night in Birkenhead, this locked out within 30 mins and developed a huge fan base with the under 18’s crowd.
All gigs the lads have played have been locked out, since being together they have played in areas such as, Wirral, Liverpool, St. Helens, Shrewsbury, Wrexham, North Wales, Warrington, Southport, Runcorn, Bolton, Blackpool plus many more areas.
The crew are well known for their unique style and fresh flavour that they have brought to the dance scene, they are young and still learning, but are leading the way in Merseyside at present, there is no doubt about that.
They take their jobs very serious but also enjoy being young and having the hunger to succeed, they show their fun, witty characters in the prints of the CD’s, using Looney Tunes cartoons.
The addition of legendary DJ Steve Cocky to the Killer Kombo line up will only benefit the lads. Steve Cocky is a huge DJ and producer nationwide and is respected everywhere as an artist.
The 4th of the KillerKombo series has proven to be the biggest hit yet.With a massive reception for the showcase @ Seeds Records, sales boomed and so to have KK's reputationWith 4 MC's all working hard as unit they are soaring.
