ABOUT ME



Kevlar first started djin around 6 years ago and has slowly progressed into one of basslines genres rising stars. His love for music and the bassline sound started long ago being introduced to the wonders of the bassline sound from the age of 10. Back then it was only tapes and pirate radio stations to keep you going or the odd friend djin around you showing off the rare old tune they'd jus been an brought It was this constant hammering of tunes which later influenced the beginning of a forever growing musical adventure. At the younger age Kevlar was never interested in the djin side of things and always thought he'd jus be a spectator, even wen he was introduced to the clubbing world fo bassline it was never an ambition he looked at. It wasnt until one day he was offered a set of second hand decks on the cheap and jus thought u no wat F**k it ill giv it a go. As soon as he started he picked it up quickly and knew it was worth putting in the effort to progress and see what coudl becoem of it. After buying the decks kevlar would stay in night after night an play the decks for hours an hours jus practicing, learning and teachin himself every thing he could slowly improving over time after an impressive start.

After around 6 months of djin he had slowly started to get to know a few of the djs from around birmingham and had aquired a few contacts for advice and help through friends and it was at this point that he was offered his first set through HOOKED PROMOTIONS @ NU Bar in Birmingham city centre And after his succesful launch has continued to grow in reputation & experience gaining sets at numerous venues throughout the town and surroudning areas. To date Kevlar has played in over 100 venues across the UK reaching such cities as Birmingham, Sheffield, Bradford, London, Leeds, Rotherham plus more as well as takin his talents across to seas to share the basslien sound visiting places such as Poland, Ibiza, Malia & Costa Del Sol with so much more on the cards for the coming months!!!!

Around a 3 years ago Kevlar also decided he wanted to explore the bassline sound and give it his own individual twist by producing his own tunes and sharing the ideas he had. This has since led to the creation of 2 Record Labels run and owned by Kevlar both growing in stature by the day!!!!

To date Kevlar has over 50 remixes under his belt crossing numeorus genres as well as working with some of the worlds most recognised recording artists and forever pushing unheard & unsigned artists. Every project is a new oppurtunity!

Kevlar is now assoicated with many labels throughout music including Yep Yep Records, Twaron Beats, Ecko Records, Jump Records, Direct Drive Digital, Sony + More!!
