- Kera
Kera was born Shakera Bailey, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania . To escape the fast pace city life, her family moved to Virginia . Realizing early on her singing forte, while attending high school Kera began to record and sing back up for local groups. But that was not enough to keep Kera from moving back to Philadelphia after graduation. In the midst of moving back to Philly,
Kera was introduced to an all girl group who had recently lost two of their members. After auditioning at a family barbeque, she was welcomed into the group with opened arms. Unfortunately there was a lack of chemistry and a few months later Kera and the group parted ways. Kera decided to return to Virginia, where she was introduced to Dropzone Entertainment CEO/Producer Omonte Ward. Omonte has worked along side Stevie J and Bink, he has produced songs for Terror Squad, U God, Sauce Money, Nicole Wray, Fam-Lay and Cheri Dennis to name a few. Years earlier a meeting had been scheduled for Kera and Omonte to meet but never happened. When the two finally met it occurred at the perfect time. Kera was looking for a label and Omonte was in search for an artist. Kera went into the studio listened to a track, a few hours later she had written and recorded “No Lovin”, from there Kera became Dropzone’s first artist.
Kera refers to her life experiences as inspirations.
Those inspirations inspired songs such as “Guilty” (produced by Omonte)
speaking to anyone that has caught their mate cheating.
“Pink Diamonds” featuring Virginia ’s Hoffler Boys, explains her struggles,
maturity and confidence as woman. Kera and Omonte share a
musical connection, and they will share it with the world!!!
