NEW ACOUSTIC DEMO

6 new songs have been recorded! This collection of songs are some of the newest material Ken Edwards has written that have been heard by very few in the last year and a half. The demo was recorded by Mark Elliot at Cub Creek Sound, a quaint studio tucked way back off River Road in Nashville, TN. This intimate collection of songs was recorded with just a guitar and vocal in one sitting. The vocals are slightly on the rough side due to the Tennessee Titans Monday Night Football victory the night before the recordings! The plans to finish the full band album from 2006 were placed on hold. In the meantime look for song updates of this version over the course of the next months. Copies of the demo are available by clicking the Merchandise Page link to the left.

THE LAST ALBUM In October of 2006, Ken Edwards and his band went into the studio to record a third album. Fresh off their busiest touring year to date and a September run through Texas, they decided to record some new material that had recently been road tested and was getting some great responses from their fans. As 2006 came to an end however, Edwards decided that he needed a break from music all together and the band finished out their tour schedule and ultimately said goodbye to the road. In the Summer of 2007, Ken moved to Nashville, Tennessee for a fresh start and in search of a different quality of life than the ups and downs that the music business offered. After a series of career and life changing events in Nashville, Ken Edwards decided that he wanted to finish the last album that he and his former band mates had begun over a year and a half before. With the help of his friends, Ken plans to complete the CD, which will be the most heartfelt work of his music career. "I started to look at the songs we tracked in October of '06 and they all were relationship driven songs. I also had some other "love songs" that had never been recorded. Since that fall, I had been writing some more personal songs that were dealing with the relationship that I was in and it hit me. all of my unpublished material dealt with love and heartbreak. I thought it would be appropriate to get some closures in my life. I want to record all of my newest and most recent material and re-visit and finish what my band and I started almost two years ago. I am not trying to raise an old career from the ashes, but to simply have an album of new material that I can share with others. It will be very personal, and those that know me the best, will realize the depth and meaning behind this final project" The album will contain some of the newer material that the Well Strung Band had been playing live such as "Emptiness" (or as close friends referred to as Crave You), "Houston to Meridian" and "Marie". Among other unheard material, it will also contain one of Edwards first love songs, "For You", that was recorded on his first demo in 2002.

The final album's title will appropriately be called "All She Wrote". Check back in the next few weeks for postings of the new songs to the page. Once the entire project is complete it will be available to purchase.

KEN EDWARDS BIO

Ken Edwards learned to play his first guitar chord his freshman year in college. After a year he began to play weekly acoustic gigs at The Gin (a legendary watering hole located in Oxford, Mississippi) where he covered songs from his Texas singer/songwriter influences as well as country music's original honky-tonk heroes.

Upon graduation from Ole Miss, Edwards put away his guitar and moved to Nashville with a marketing degree and a "real-world obligation" to get a nine-to-five job. After deciding the coat and tie career was not what he wanted, Edwards moved back to his home state of Mississippi with a new found desire to get into the home improvement business. Working construction enabled him to continue playing music and inspired his songwriting. Two years later, Edwards formed a band whose sound rivaled that of today's pop-country music. Their live shows began to make a name for them about town.

Ken Edwards and His Well Strung Band have taken their music throughout the region, playing venues in college towns and cities in Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Tennessee and Texas. In the bands short time together they have opened for recording artists Jack Ingram, Chris Knight, Dierks Bentley and Pat Green. Edwards has also shared the stage with Cory Morrow, Charlie Robison and his original inspiration, Robert Earl Keen.

Ken Edwards debut CD "A Long Time Coming" was finished in September of 2004. A live album was put out in November of 2005 and the bands newest and self-produced project , Nashvillywood, was released in April 2006. With a classic bar room sound that is influenced by artists ranging from Steve Earle to Jerry Jeff Walker, Ken Edwards and His Well Strung Band are poised to make their mark on the up and coming progressive country music scene.
