"I can still remember when it all started," says Kelly. "I had just purchased Jewel's debut album 'Pieces of You' and was so inspired by what I heard that I pulled out a notepad and began writing songs. I haven't stopped since."
From studying music in the suburbs of New York City, to teaching it in the heart of downtown Atlanta, Kelly lived and breathed the life of a musician. But life as she knew it changed when she experienced a significant loss, the loss of her child. "This was hands down the most painful season I have ever gone through. I felt like my life was over." However, this was also a defining experience in Kelly's music career. "The songs I wrote during this time made me realize that I need to share my music with the world. I want nothing more than to share my story, that I may be able to offer a message of hope to those who feel hopeless like I did."
As Kelly continued to pursue her musical dreams, doors began to open. In 2007, Kelly was contacted by Dean Cramer, CEO of Kings of A&R Media Group who connected her with Jason Davis of Fahrenheit Media Group for artist development. In 2008, Kelly signed a management deal with Caleb Morgan at NewLine Management and recorded her debut EP "Like I'm Beautiful" with producer Eliot Sloan (Blessid Union of Souls) which was released in the fall of 2009. She then completed a solo tour up the east coast and opened for several headline artists including Blessid Union of Souls, Gavin DeGraw, and Zac Brown. Her tour ended at Feedback Conference in Nashville, TN where she was offered a record deal with Transform Music/South Pawl Records/MMG, Inc.
Kelly has since moved to Nashville. "There is no place like it," says Kelly. "It's like living in a city of soulmates, and I have fallen in love." In 2011, Kelly joined the roster of Artists On The Edge with Foothill Entertainment Group managed by Art Wasem and has been performing both locally and regionally for a variety of non-profits and charities. In the spring of 2012, Kelly released a new single "Love Me Back" and is working her second EP "Green Light" produced by Mark Burch (Billy Currington Band) which is scheduled for release in the fall of 2012. "I am confident that this is only the beginning of my budding music career and am excited for what is to come."
